The fight continues!
Posted by: on May-12-2012

I personally hate the way others have handled the AI for their games. Running back and forth when there's an open path less than 3 cells away? REALLY? I've spent way more time than I should have making this work. At this point I have a dozen pages of notes, an entire folder filled with reference bookmarks, and a barely functioning path finding AI. A few more bugs to work out and a little bit of optimization and I'm done.

It's so worth it.

OMG MAKE THE BUNNIES STOP CHASING ME! AGH I RAN INTO A GROUP OF BLOBEASTS! AAARRGGHHHHH

Tell my wife and children...

They are smarter than...... us... *gurgly last breath before respawn*

Server monitor
Posted by: on Apr-29-2012

I've installed some server monitoring software. It seems to be running great! Whenever something happens to the server I get notified on EVERYTHING. Work BB, work iPad, home computer, personal cell, each of my email addresses.... If I miss that notification I'm probably dead. This should drastically improve up-time (most of the down time has been me not noticing I'm sorry to say!)

Schooollls OUT. FOR. EVER.

Maybe not forever but for a while. I'm graduating May 5th with an as in computer science. I hope that my internship will hire me on! Until then I'll finally be able to spend a lot more time on Tanar!

Forums are up again!

Forums have been successfully migrated to their new home! Our most recent updates include randomly generated (or modified) drops, improved NPC AI and some nicely touched up graphics! I hope everyone enjoys their spring break as much as we will!

It's quiet.

Word on the street is that Tanar is dead. It is not. I am programming, we have a person working on maps and content, and we even have an artist that is doing a great job! It's a project that's been in the works for years now I know. It's not dead until I am!
